The Ministry of Beer connection
An Engineer and an MBA, Manya Aman has worked with many big corporates such as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Lenovo and Vodafone, to name a few. However, she left the corporate world behind to start her entrepreneurial journey along with her husband Prateek who is an MBA from IIM Calcutta. Prateek is one of the owners of successfully running ‘Ministry of Beer’ chain of restaurants and ‘Regania Banquets’. Passionate about travelling and being wine connoisseur enthusiasts, the couple has visited most of Europe.
Manya Aman and her Prateek like to call their projects as “baby”. Ministry of Beer (MOB) restaurant and bar is one of their babies that changed their life.
Manya’s journey as an entrepreneur has proved to be a life saver for her and her family. It all started when she got married. A financial downfall in her new family made Manya strong and courageous enough to break the monotony and take the financial front in her own hands.
Although Manya lost her mother to cancer, she always gets inspired from her words. Her mother would ask her “to have your own identity, your own voice”. Drawing determination and strength from those magic words, it was time for Manya to give her best in those trying times.
“When life gives you lemon, make lemonade. I made lemonades of teachings,” Manya says.
The perfect understanding between Manya and Prateek has worked wonders for them and the entire family. The two got down to straightening their entangled life. After much effort, they succeeded in convincing the former’s father to remarry. “Usually relationships do not withstand the vagaries of tough times. However, there is a magical way to cope up with it. It is ‘communication’. An open communication is the key to any healthy relation,” Manya says.
Prateek can’t stop thanking his fate on finding a wife like Manya who has always been an unconditional support for him.
Almost a year ago, Manya and Prateek inaugurated a four-floored unique Indian space – Ministry Of Beer (MOB) – in the heart of Delhi. Ministry Of Beer lives up to its interesting name. It has an astounding ambience. MOB claims to be the first steam punk theme based restaurant in the country.
It offers 122 different food dishes including deserts. It serves 85 different drinks. And everything is served with a touch of twists.
Ministry of Beer is similar to Manya’s life journey. It will take you down to the urban meandering lane, where modern meets the Victorian to create the contemporary yet classy ambience. The experience it gives is sublime.
